A number of stars from the world of opera are to perform at open air Proms in the Park concerts around the UK to celebrate the Last Night of the Proms on 13 September.
Italian tenor Vittorio Grigolo is to perform in Hyde Park alongside Rufus Wainwright, Earth Wind & Fire and former Jette Parker Young Artist Pumeza Matshikiza. He will return to Covent Garden in November 2014 in Laurent Pelly's Royal Opera production of Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore.
Welsh bass-baritone Bryn Terfel is to headline the Singleton Park, Swansea event, with fellow performers to be confirmed. He returns to Covent Garden alongside Vittorio in L'elisir d'amore as well as in Tim Albery's Royal Opera production of Wagner's Der fliegende Holländer (The Flying Dutchman) in February 2015.
American tenor Noah Stewart is to perform alongside Katherine Jenkins at Glasgow Green. Noah made his Royal Opera debut in 2012 and returns to Covent Garden in Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier's Royal Opera production of Puccini's Madama Butterfly.
As well as live acts, the family events will feature a special nationwide singalong. As well as London, Swansea and Glasgow, a performance will also take place in Belfast, with the line-up still to be confirmed.
